“Fail fast. Fail Forward.” We have all heard that Silicon Valley saying. But what does that mean? In this show, Jon Showers, share his brutally honest journey about what it means to Fail Forward.  You’ll hear that his founder journey is only just starting. Jon has a great background from a military career, to athletic injury recovery training business owner, to high-tech high-growth founder and now a serial entrepreneur in the next generation of secure messaging.

Jon shares his non-technical founder perspective and lessons learned.  We cover what it takes to jump into a high-tech business when all you know is non-technical things.  Jon provides advice to founders on finding and hiring a CTO; and outsourcing development to a software company; product development; raising money; building a network; dealing with investors/angels; selecting advisors and much more.

Bio

Jon served within the infantry umbrella in the Marine Corps from 2006 to 2010, where he grew to become a team leader, then squad leader, and ultimately led over 50 combat operations in Iraq over multiple deployments. He later founded Forever Fit A.A.A., a successful, elite personal training business for post-surgery professional athlete rehabilitation. In his free time, Jon won the 2011 California Natural Bodybuilding Championship and placed second in the 2014 Musclemania Worlds competition in the “Natural” category. He transitioned his entrepreneurial endeavors into the tech startup space in 2016 by founding iNK Digital Networking, an event networking and relationship management platform, for which he raised $300k and grew to over 5,000 users and 15 national organizations.  Most recently he has been working on Blackbirdsecure, a project dealing with secure messaging for personal relationship management that he currently has an SBIR government contract.
